Solutions are given here to nearly all of the text's exercises as well as to
most of the additional problems. Exceptions are mostly for double-starred
exercises, for which we refer the reader to the research article cited in the
bibliography.
Because most of these solutions require a fair amount of notation, the first
version of this solution manual provides only Postscript files. In the near
future, an HTML version should be available, but it will require Netscape
with some modifications in order to be readable, since mathematics support
remains minimal under HTML.
Provided here are two types of files:
One file for each chapter, containing the solutions to (nearly) all of the
exercises for this chapter, including the additional problems.
These files are typically quite large and will print anywhere from 20 to
70 pages.
One file for each exercise (including the additional problems);
these files are fairly large, as they use the same fonts and formatting
as the text; however, most solutions print to only 1-2 pages,
with a rare few taking up to 5 pages.
These files are grouped by chapter below.
